A gang of illegal screen gambling establishments in downtown Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do were punished by the courts for making unfair profits.

Today (21st), Detective 5 of the Busan District Court (Judge Im Soo-jung) announced that he would be sentenced to 2 years and 2 months in prison for Mr.

In addition, 35 people involved in the operation of the gambling establishment with Mr. A were also sentenced to a minimum fine and a maximum prison sentence.

Person A and others are accused of taking illegal profits by opening and operating screen gambling sites that relay internet gambling sites in apartments in downtown Busan and Gyeongnam from January 2020 to September last year.

The illegal profits they earned through gambling were deposited into Mr. A's borrowed-name account, and it turned out that there were only 7 confirmed accounts and the amount amounted to about 10.3 billion won.

In addition, it was investigated that Mr. A shared the cost of hiring a lawyer to the gambling operator arrested by the investigative agency and asked Mr. B, an accomplice, to 'make a statement pretending to be the general manager'.

Mr. B, who usually followed Mr. A well, tried to buy a prosecutor with his accomplices, and even fled without appearing in the substantive examination of the warrant.

In response, the court said, "Mr. A says that he is only a simple accomplice and does not reflect on other accomplices, such as shifting the responsibility to other accomplices. The situation after the crime is also quite bad.”

However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The sentence was decided in consideration of the fact that Mr. A has never been punished for the same crime."
