An employee at a Hyundai Motor dealership stole customer money by offering a partial refund if the car was paid in advance.

While the amount of confirmed damage exceeded 1.1 billion won, lawsuits followed, and KNN reporter Choi Han-sol covered it.

Mr. A, who looked into purchasing a car earlier this year.

He was connected with an employee at a Hyundai dealership, and he signed a contract for a car worth 50 million won.

However, agent B requested 30 million won for his upfront payment into his account.

[Mr A/ Victim

: If you send money to the company, there will be no cash back or allowances, and if you pay yourself, you will receive much more cash back and allowances.]

The victims did not suspect anything when they suggested remittance.

[Mr A/Victim: Show us all the contracts, etc., and this amount is the amount paid in advance, and how much is the remaining amount and the principal in installments…

.]

But it was all false.

As a result of a belated check, no amount was paid to the company account, and Mr. B has already lost contact.

You only signed a contract and the amount of the advance payment was taken from you.

23 such victims were in Busan and Gyeongnam alone.

Those who sent prepayments ranging from as little as 10 million won to as high as 100 million won suffered about 1.13 billion won in damage.

The agency later found out about this and delivered the information to the victims.

[Hyundai dealer representative: I have nothing to say right now.

I'm sorry.]

With the complaints from the victims one after another, Mr. B surrendered himself to the police yesterday (20) and is being investigated.

However, he also seems urgently need to come up with measures on the side of the company to prevent the recurrence of fraud cases committed by employees using price discounts as bait.
