Officials who went to clubs with lost IDs "to look younger"

A public official was caught trying to enter the club with a lost ID he was keeping at his workplace.

According to Namdong-gu, Incheon, Mr. A in his 30s, a civil servant at an administrative welfare center affiliated with Namdong-gu, went to a club in Gangnam, Seoul with someone else's ID card at dawn on the 3rd.

However, a club official saw the difference between the photo of his resident registration card and the real thing of Mr. A, suspected theft and reported it to the police.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A went to the club with the lost resident registration card kept at the administrative welfare center where he works.

The victim, who was informed of this fact, later filed a complaint with the National Reporting Center.

As for the reason for stealing another person's resident registration card, Mr. A is said to have made a statement to the effect that 'the identity was stolen to deceive into a younger age'.

The police are planning to investigate the exact circumstances of Mr. A.

Namdong-gu also said that it would proceed with the audit process depending on the progress of the investigation.
