Kim Kyung-soo, a former governor of Gyeongnam, who is serving a sentence in the 'Drooking comment manipulation case', was released from parole in September.



It was found that the parole review committee of the Ministry of Justice yesterday (19th) made a final judgment of ineligibility for former governor Kim.



Former Governor Kim was put on trial on charges of manipulating public opinion in order to win the election of former President Moon Jae-in, who was the then-Democratic presidential candidate since the end of 2016, in collusion with Kim Dong-won and his party.



Former Governor Kim was sentenced to two years in prison in the first trial in 2019 and was released on bail, but the sentence was confirmed by the Supreme Court in July of last year and he was imprisoned again in Changwon Prison.



Lee Byung-ho, the former head of the National Intelligence Service, who was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for supporting former President Park Geun-hye for 2.1 billion won in special expenses, and the charge of exerting influence on the National Pension Service to support the merger of Samsung C&T and Cheil Industries in 2015 Former Minister of Health and Welfare Moon Hyung-pyo, who was indicted and sentenced to two years and six months in prison, was released from prison after being judged eligible for parole.



Those eligible for parole in September will be released on the 30th.
