Space tourism is a booming field, especially in France, where several start-ups stand out.

Recently, it is the Stratoflight project, in partnership with Expleo, which has been talked about, reports Futura Sciences.

The two companies want to develop a stratospheric capsule that would allow its occupants to benefit from a balcony with a direct view of the Earth from space.

For this, the two partners intend to create a structure which would have the particularity of being equipped with an extra-vehicular platform.

This would be designed to accommodate six people, including two pilots.

Thanks to a zero-pressure balloon inflated with carbon-free hydrogen, the capsule could fly up to 35 kilometers in altitude.

This is less than the 80 or even 100 kilometers reached by planes and suborbital launchers.

A unique space show

At this distance, it is not possible to float in space.

It is however possible to see the curvature of the Earth and the stars but also to apprehend with a very different angle the sunrises and sunsets.

So many shows that could therefore be observed from this space balcony.

To access it, a pressure suit and a small life support unit will be required.

Under development, this project could quickly arouse the interest of certain customers who for the moment have to be content with observing the Earth from space through panoramic windows.

SpaceX is currently preparing the first private spacewalk in history, scheduled for the end of 2022. The space balcony project should see the light of day in 2025, with reservations potentially open as early as next year.
