The arrest was made based on a report from a citizen.

After a citizen found A who was trying to sell drugs on Telegram, he reported to the police, saying, "There is someone trying to sell me drugs on Telegram."

Afterwards, the citizen revealed to Mr. A his intention to buy drugs falsely and lured Mr. A to a nearby accommodation.

Then, he asked the policeman for help, saying, "I told you to come out in front of the nearby OO motel, please catch me."

The police hid in front of the meeting place informed by the citizen, and eventually arrested Mr. A, who appeared for drug sales.

At the time of arrest, the police demanded that Mr. A "show me his bag", but Mr. A vehemently refused, saying, "Why do I show you my bag?"

Moreover, he even attempted to leave the scene without revealing personal details.

Eventually, the police arrested Mr. A and checked the contents of the bag.

As reported by citizens, Mr. A's bag contained a large amount of drugs and syringes.

Netizens who saw the arrest video responded, "I hope there will be a strong punishment for drugs," "This arrest has saved the lives of many people," and "Thank you to the police officers for their hard work."

In recent years, online non-face-to-face drug transactions are on the rise.

With the development of social media such as Telegram and Twitter, virtual assets, and the 'Dark Web' that strongly guarantees the anonymity of users, it is possible to easily contact drug sellers anonymously.

In response, the police announced that they will carry out a special crackdown on narcotics from last month to the end of this year to eradicate drug crimes and severely punish the entire process of drug production, distribution, sale, administration, and possession.

Meanwhile, drug crime reports can be made through '112' or 'Smart National Report' (http://onetouch.police.go.kr/).
