Four months after the death of his son Antoine Alléno, hit at the wheel of his scooter by a driver, his father, star chef Yannick Alléno, launched an association to help victims on Tuesday.

Soberly baptized "Antoine Alléno", the cook hopes to help other families in the same situation in which he found himself last May.

It is a drama that had moved the entire Parisian cooking scene.

In May 2022, Antoine Alléno, son of the famous chef Yannick Alléno, died when he was hit at the wheel of his scooter by a driver who had just stolen a car.

Four months later, his father decided to create with his ex-wife an association to help parents bereaved by the loss of a child under 25 years old.

"After Antoine's disappearance, we really wanted to transform our pain into positive action in the general interest and we created this association", explains the cook at the microphone of Europe 1.

"It seemed natural to us to form this association. It has two main missions: the first is to help the parents of victims under the age of 25. The second is to set up a system which guarantees that the tragedy of Antoine will never happen again".

"What are we doing ?"

The objective for the parents of the young man of 24 years is to give the floor to the families of the victims.

"The anonymity is unbearable and the humanization is terrible", because it is not very present, he explains.

"Well, when you find yourself faced with these moments, what do you do? How do you warn people?"

Faced with these questions, Yannick Alléno hopes to help other families who find themselves in the same situation as him.

And more than anything, the chef hopes that stories like his son's don't happen in the near future.
