Prosecutors have again requested an arrest warrant for Kim Bong-hyeon, former chairman of Star Mobility, who was pointed out as a key figure in the Lime Asset Management incident, which resulted in the suspension of the repurchase of 1.6 trillion won.

The 6th Criminal Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office announced today (19th) that it had requested an arrest warrant for Kim on charges of violating the Act on Fraud and Similar Reception on the 14th.

Former Chairman Kim is accused of stealing about 9 billion won after collecting about 350 victims by saying he would sell unlisted stocks in Gwangju and other places from 2017 to 2018.

In the second half of 2020, the prosecution, which received complaints from the victims, determined that former Chairman Kim defrauded the victims to steal money.

Because the case is separate from the trial currently being held by former Chairman Kim, the questioning of the suspect before detention will be conducted, not the application for revocation of bail.

The interrogation was scheduled to be held on the 16th, but it was postponed when the former chairman Kim's side said to the court, "If the date is postponed, I will definitely attend."

Former Chairman Kim also did not appear in the first trial on charges of serving expensive alcohol to former and current prosecutors scheduled for the afternoon of the same day.

The delayed interrogation will be held tomorrow at 10:30 am.

Previously, former Chairman Kim was arrested and indicted in May and August 2020 on charges of stealing about 24 billion won of Suwon passenger funds and 40 billion won invested in Lime. released
