This is a decrease of 19,597 from 71,471 yesterday.



Compared to the 9th (69,399) a week ago and the first day of the Chuseok holiday, 17,525 fewer people.



There were 37,684 fewer people than the last 2 days (89,558 people) two weeks ago.



As of Friday's announcement, the number of new confirmed cases was the lowest in nine weeks since July 15 (38,857 people).



Lee Ki-il, the 1st general coordinator of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, said in a remarks at today's major headquarters meeting that the spread, which temporarily increased in the aftermath of the Chuseok holiday, is drawing a downward curve and "shows that it is possible to respond without social distancing."



As of 00:00 today, the number of patients with severe severe disease was 516, an increase of 25 from yesterday (491).



Yesterday, the number of patients who died from COVID-19 was 60, 12 fewer than the previous day (72).



The cumulative death toll was 27,725, and the cumulative fatality rate was 0.11%.
