Over the past six years, it has been found that nearly 560,000 hacking attempts have been made against key government systems.



According to the 'Status of Blocking Hacking Attempts Targeted at Central Administrative Organizations' submitted by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security by Lee Hae-sik of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Administrative Safety Committee today (13th), a total of 558,674 cases were recorded for 5 years and 7 months from 2017 to July this year. There was a hacking attempt.



By year, 62,532 cases in 2017, 94,980 cases in 2018, 124,754 cases in 2019, 108,810 cases in 2020, 101,123 cases in 2021, etc. It was a trend.



As of July this year, 66,475 cases were counted.



As a result of tracking Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, China accounted for the most with 127,908 cases (22.9%), followed by the United States with 113,86 cases (20.2%).



The number of cases where hacking started in Korea was 47,725 (8.5%), followed by 26,261 (4.7%) in Russia, 15,539 (2.8%) in Germany, and 13,591 in Brazil. (2.4%) and so on.



However, it is difficult to determine the exact source because hackers often bypass IP addresses to avoid tracking, Lee said.



By attack type, 'information leakage' (228,950 cases, 40.9%) was the most common.



It was followed by 'information collection' (91,949 cases, 16.5%), 'website alteration' (87,911 cases, 15.7%), and 'system authority acquisition' (79,332 cases, 14.
