The search operation has been completed in an apartment in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, where seven people died as water filled the underground parking lot.

As the search for the underground parking lot of the apartment complex in Indeok-dong, Pohang, where the disaster occurred, was almost completed, the Gyeongbuk National Police Agency formed a dedicated team and started the investigation.
The police will check the overall contents such as the location of the drain or vehicle through the first on-site inspection with the fire department and local government, and if necessary, the second inspection with the National Forensic Service will also be conducted.

The police are investigating the situation at the time of the accident with survivors and escaped residents, and are analyzing the progress of flooding, evacuation of residents, and vehicle movement by securing CCTV and vehicle black box in the underground parking lot.
Considering that a flood warning was issued in Pohang at the time of the accident and a safety notice was sent to warn of river overflow and levee collapse, it is pointed out that the management office's response has increased anger.
Accordingly, the police plan to investigate whether the apartment management office and local governments that have ordered the vehicle to be removed at the time of the accident comply with laws related to flood safety or secure safety measures.
If the violation is confirmed, a legal review will begin to determine whether there is a direct relationship to death and whether criminal liability can be held.
