• Cupertino Apple launches the iPhone 14, always connected by satellite for emergencies but a victim of inflation

Seven years after its launch, Apple's

Apple Watch

is finally clear about its function.

It has become a device focused entirely on wellness and health, and this year it has made that clear with new features focused on fertility and accident assistance.

But it is not the only change.

Along with the traditional Apple Watch models, the apple company has also launched an "Ultra" model designed for extreme or professional athletes who require more autonomy and resistance.

SERIES 8

The new generation of Apple Watch will be known as

Series 8

(even though it is technically the seventh generation of the product).

Its design is similar to that of the Series 7 presented last year, with a slightly curved larger screen and few frames.

The biggest change to the new watch is a new body temperature sensor.

This sensor is the pillar on which a key function of the new watch is built: a fertility calendar that calculates the ovulation periods in women.

The watch is capable of taking body temperature on the wrist every five minutes and interpreting changes and deviations to estimate the users' fertility or menstrual problems.

Apple ensures that this data remains on the watch and phone at all times,

never on remote servers,

and is always encrypted.

The new watch also includes an automatic traffic accident detection function thanks to more precise accelerometers.

Upon detecting an accident, the watch makes an automatic call to the emergency services and sends the user's location.

The company has also created a new battery saving operating mode that will also be compatible with previous models of the Apple Watch and with which it will be possible to

double the autonomy

of the watch by adjusting the brightness of the screen and the frequency of measurements.

The Series 8 watches will be available from next week in two sizes and aluminum or steel cases at a price starting at 399 euros.

As in previous years, there are various colors and strap combinations to choose from and special editions alongside

Nike

and

Hermès.

Along with the Series 8, Apple will also launch the

Apple Watch SE,

a cheaper model with a case that combines metal and plastic.

The watch uses the same processor as the new Series 8, but the screen is slightly smaller and has larger bezels.

The price starts at 299 euros and will also be available next week.

APPLE WATCH ULTRA

The big surprise of the event, however, is the new Apple Watch Ultra, a more resistant watch, designed for semi-professional and professional

athletes

who need more resistance and autonomy or lovers of adventure and extreme sports.

The watch is made of a titanium case with sapphire crystal on a 49mm

screen.

It has one more button on the casing that can be programmed for different function shortcuts and is designed to be used even when wearing gloves.

It has more battery than the rest of the company's watches, with an

autonomy of 36 hours

in normal conditions or 60 with the new energy saving mode.

Apple has also created special digital straps and dials for athletes who need altitude information, a compass, and even a low-light night mode.

Its

GPS is also more advanced,

with two antennas that allow a more exact position to be obtained even in urban areas.

According to Apple, it is the most accurate sports watch on the market.

Apple has also redesigned the compass app for him, adding features that automatically generate return routes in case of loss and location alarms that can be heard from 100 meters away.

It is incredibly resistant.

It withstands temperatures from -20 to 55 degrees Celsius and can also dive to a depth of 30 meters, providing detailed information on depth and dive time.

The watch can actually be used as a recreational dive computer.

The Apple Watch Pro will be available at the end of September at a price that starts at 999 euros, and can be reserved from today.
