Kim Hye-kyung, the spouse of Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, who is suspected of 'corporate card misappropriation', appeared at the prosecution at around 1:40 pm today (7th).
The Suwon District Prosecutor's Office's Public Investigation Department (Prosecutor Won-doo Jeong) notified Mr. Kim, who is charged with breach of duty and violation of the Public Official Election Act, to appear at the prosecution today and respond to the investigation.
From July 2018, right after Lee was elected governor of Gyeonggi Province, from July 2018 to September last year, Mr. Bae, who was a close associate of the former Gyeonggi Provincial Office Special Class 5th grade, paid for his food with a Gyeonggi Provincial Government card. I am being charged with one.
Bae's corporate card misappropriation was found to be about 150 cases, worth 20 million won.
Of these, 20 cases of corporate card misappropriation directly related to Mr. Kim were reported to be worth 2 million won.
Earlier, the police saw that there was an implied conspiracy to commit the crime between Mr. Bae and Mr. Kim, the direct users of the corporate card, and handed Kim over to the prosecution as a co-conspirator in this case.
Kim is also accused of violating the Public Official Election Act by providing a meal worth 100,000 won to party-related officials at a restaurant in Seoul on August 2, last year, after President Lee declared his candidacy for the presidential election.
Kim's side completely denies these allegations, and it is said that he maintained this position in the police subpoena investigation on the 23rd of last month.
The prosecution summoned Bae on the 5th and conducted an investigation for more than 12 hours.
