The bereaved family of the late Lee Dae-jun, an official of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, who was shot and killed by North Korean forces in the West Sea, meets the parents of Otto Warmbier, an American college student who died while being detained in North Korea.

Lee Dae-jun's older brother, Lee Rae-jin, said in a media call today (6th) that he was invited to his home by Otto Warmbier's parents and was going to Cincinnati, Ohio, USA on the 17th.

Mr. Lee said, "Since his brother's accident, he has been in constant contact with the Warm Beer family and received advice, and thankfully recently, he received a call saying he would invite him to his home."

Warmbier was detained in North Korea after being sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for overthrowing the regime in North Korea, which he visited on a tour in January 2016.

Then, in 2019, Congress passed a bill to significantly strengthen financial sanctions against North Korea, named after Warmbier, and a US court ordered North Korea to pay $51.13 million in damages from the Warmbier family against North Korea. I did.

In January, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York also ordered that $240,000 in North Korean frozen funds seized by the New York State Board of Audit and Inspection be paid to the Warmbier family.

Lee said, "The Warmbier family have been fighting against North Korea and even won. I want to,” he said.

Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People's Power, who served as the head of the task force for the investigation into the shooting of an official of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, will also accompany this visit to his home.
