Although the heavy rain advisory has been lifted in the metropolitan area, there are places where traffic is still under control due to heavy rain overnight and the discharge of major dams.

We connect reporters who are out on Jamsu Bridge in Seoul.

Reporter Kim Bo-mi, how is the current situation?

<Reporter>

I am now at Jamsu Bridge.

Today (6th) morning the rain stopped and the Seoul area was sunny all day.

However, as you can see, as the discharge of the Paldang Dam continues, the river is still in a state of overflowing.

The water level at Jamsu Bridge rose to 8.8m as of 10 am, but has now dropped to 8m.

As of 5:30 p.m., the Paldang Dam discharge has dropped to 8,700 tons per second, but it seems it will take some time to go down to the controlled water level of 6.2m.

A Seoul official explained that traffic will resume tomorrow afternoon at the earliest.

In addition to Jamsu Bridge, some roads are still under control, such as the Olympic-daero Yeoui Upstream Ramp in both directions and Nodeul Yeoui Upstream to the Hangang Bridge.

There were many places in Seoul with traffic congestion this morning, right?

<Reporter>

As the river increased from last night, some sections of major roads in Seoul, including Olympic-daero and Gangbyeonbuk-ro, were controlled.

Also, there were many places where the control continued until morning.

Among the citizens, traffic has already resumed due to the sunny weather, or citizens who did not have access to control information in advance complained.

[Kim Byung-guk / Driver: I am crossing (Hangang Bridge) now, but I am stuck, so I turn around and go.

Well, I came out without even thinking about it, but it's blocked like this.]

[Jeong Gi-nam/Driver: I couldn't go north of the river and came across it.

I'm coming from Seongsan-dong (near the Hangang Bridge), and I think it took an hour.

It's annoying, well.]

The police explained that it was inevitably controlled for the safety of citizens as the high tide of the Han River was expected to reach its peak by the afternoon in a situation where there was a lot of discharge from the Paldang Dam.
