On the morning of the 6th, there was a fire at the POSCO Works in Pohang, Gyeongbuk.

According to the fire department, a fire broke out in the Pohang Works around 7:17 am, but was extinguished within 4 hours.

There were no casualties, but one main electrical room of the 2nd HR plant, one office building in the stainless steel plant, and a part of the basement of the R&D center were burned.

A POSCO official explained that the fire that occurred outside was a normal dissipation operation that discharges by-product gases that could explode due to a temporary power outage in the factory.

POSCO is also investigating the relationship with the typhoon, given that the accident occurred while Hinnamno was passing through the southern part of the Korean Peninsula.
