Next, we will go through Jeju Island and go to Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do, where a typhoon is expected to land in the morning of tomorrow (6th).

Reporter Shin Yong-shik, how is the situation in Tongyeong?

<Reporter>

The place I am in is the North New Port of Tongyeong.

As the typhoon approaches, the weather conditions are changing every moment, and the wind is getting stronger and the raindrops are getting thicker.

As you can see behind me now at the news of a strong typhoon coming, about 300 ships including small ships have been evacuated here.

About 13,000 ships have completed their evacuation along the coast of Gyeongnam.

The cable car here, which is famous as a tourist attraction, also stopped operating and took safety measures, and all passenger ships in the Gyeongnam area were also stopped.

Currently, Tongyeong and the typhoon center are about 600 km away.

At the current rate, it will be closest to here tomorrow around 7 am.

Strong wind advisories and typhoon preliminary warnings are also in effect for all regions of Gyeongnam.

Up to 400mm of rain is expected to fall by the next day.

As it was a site that suffered major damage from typhoon 'Maemi' in 2003, Tongyeong City continues to guide safety measures such as ships, outdoor advertisements, and fish farms in preparation for strong winds exceeding 40 m/s along with preparations to prevent flood damage.

At the Gyeongnam Provincial Government level, the highest level of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, the 3rd stage of emergency, started emergency work, and safety inspections were conducted in areas where there was a risk of casualties and drainage pumping stations.

The Coast Guard Regional Rescue Headquarters is operating the 3rd stage and maintaining a 24-hour emergency service system.

The Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education will start 'remote classes' instead of going to school tomorrow at all schools in the province.
