The personal information of the suspect in the Daejeon Kookmin Bank robbery murder case that took place on December 21, 2001 was released.

Syngman Rhee, 52 years old, and Jeonghak Lee, 51 years old.

The police arrested Lee Jeong-hak in Jeongseon, Gangwon-do to gamble on the 25th, and based on Lee's statement, they also arrested and arrested Syngman Rhee in Daejeon.

This is the scene where the incident took place.

The suspects who appeared in the underground parking lot here killed the cashier of the bank with a gun and ran away with a bag of 300 million won in cash.

A case that remained unsolved for 21 years because he was wearing a mask at the time of the crime and there were no fingerprints left.

DNA was the key.

The DNA of the handkerchief found in the vehicle used in the escape matches the DNA of a cigarette butt obtained during the crackdown on an illegal game center in North Chungcheong Province in 2015.

The police, who became aware of this fact at the request of the National Forensic Service in 2017, confirmed that it was Lee Jung-hak's gene after a five-year long investigation into 15,000 people who may have entered the game room.

Police believe that Lee Jung-hak stole a pistol from the police, and Lee Seung-man stole the money after firing a gun at the scene through the suspect's statement and an investigation by nearby witnesses.

Lee Jung-hak admits to the charges, but Rhee Syng-man denies it.

[Lee Seong-sun/Daejeon Police Agency homicide chief: Lee Jung-hak sincerely apologizes to the victim and his family, is repenting of his sins, and is making a detailed statement of the crime.]

Then, Lee Jung-hak is known to have stated, "Sung-man Rhee threw the gun into the sea."

While the police are looking at the female crimes, they are investigating whether there are additional accomplices.
