The police decided to conduct a intensive investigation, including extending the period of crackdown on drug offenders.

The National Police Agency announced today (29th) that it has decided to extend the intensive crackdown on drug offenders in the second half of this month for two more months until December of this year.

In particular, if the suspicion of drug use is confirmed in a club or an entertainment establishment, it will also be investigated whether the person involved in the establishment is systematically distributed or abetted.

In addition, we plan to intensively investigate distribution activities using the dark web and virtual assets, as well as distribution activities by foreigners residing in Korea.

In addition, if there is an accident or the driver fled due to driving abnormally even though it is not drunk or driving without a license, we plan to check whether the driver is driving under the influence of drugs by conducting a search on the driver's belongings, vehicle, or drug test.

The National Police Agency arrested 932 drug offenders as of the 21st through the crackdown in the second half of the year.

The number of drug offenders arrested until July of this year was 7,447, an increase of 14.6% from the same period last year.
