Rep. Ahn Min-seok of the Democratic Party of Korea, who claimed that Seo-won Choi (former Choi Soon-sil) had an influence on the government's arms contract by colluding with Lockheed Martin, an American defense company, was handed over to the prosecution on charges of defamation by spreading false information.

According to the police today (26th), the Gyeonggi Osan Police Station recently sent Rep. Ahn to the prosecution with an opinion of indictment.

Rep. Ahn appeared on the radio in November 2016 and raised suspicions that Choi was involved in the introduction of the THAAD system, saying, "I know that Mr. Choi met with Lockheed Martin Chairman in June."

He also claimed that "German prosecutors are tracking Choi Soon-sil's property in Germany, and the amount of money laundering is trillions of won." Choi sued Rep. Ahn in September 2019.

Through an investigation, the police determined that these remarks by Rep. Ahn, who linked Choi and Lockheed Martin, were false.

However, remarks related to Germany, such as "the amount of money laundering is in the trillions of won," were omitted from this transmission because the facts could not be confirmed.

The police are currently requesting cooperation from the German investigative authorities to confirm the truth of the German-related remarks.

The police plan to decide whether to send the case further based on the results of cooperation with the German investigative authorities.
