Guryong Village in Gaepo 1-dong, Gangnam-gu, which was first declared as a special disaster area.

(the house) is gone.

More than half collapsed.]

The damage to the residents of the area is not limited.

[Residents affected by heavy rain in Guryong Village: Household tools are completely submerged and tasteless.] In addition

to this, 10 local governments that are certain to meet the criteria for declaring a disaster area due to this heavy rain were designated as special disaster areas.

Since it takes time to investigate all the damaged areas, the areas that have been pre-investigated are designated first.

Of the 10 special disaster areas, 8 local governments in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon and Chungnam were applied to the entire region, and in the other two local governments, including Gangnam Guryong Village, only some eup, myeon and dong were applied.

If it is designated as a special disaster area, about 50 to 80% of the recovery cost is supported by the government, which greatly reduces the financial burden of local governments.

Residents of the affected areas are provided with disaster subsidies, exemptions from national and local taxes, and reductions in public charges.

The affected residents welcomed the news of the designation of a special disaster area, but ordered sufficient support.

I don't know how much money will come out later.] The

government plans to conduct a joint investigation with relevant ministries by the end of this month and include other affected areas as soon as they meet the requirements for declaration as a special disaster area.
