The rain damage this summer is not over yet.

Heavy rain fell in the Chungbuk area until today (20th).

A landslide occurred on the highway, injuring two people, and flooding of houses and shopping malls followed.

The dirt piled up to the front of the tank lorry's driver's seat, and the soil piled up higher than the height of an adult.

At around 4:40 a.m. today, a landslide occurred near the Jecheon Tunnel in the Busan direction of the Jungang Expressway.



The collapsed area alone is 40m wide and 40m long.



A taxi driving on the highway crashed while trying to avoid a stone that had rolled over due to a landslide, injuring two people, including the driver and passengers.

The Road Corporation used heavy equipment such as excavators to carry out restoration work, but the downbound line of the expressway was blocked for nearly eight hours.



Traffic resumed on one lane around 12:30 PM, while the remaining lanes are still being controlled for additional restoration work.



In the Chungbuk area, where it rained up to 70mm per hour, flood damage followed.



A house in Sancheok-myeon, Chungju-si was flooded with rainwater this morning, and the fire department was dispatched to pump out water.



In Angseong-myeon, Chungju-si, rainwater rushed into a restaurant and the fire department carried out emergency drainage work, and in Gamgok-myeon, Eumseong-gun, a report of road flooding was received and maintenance work was completed.



At around 7:30 am, the road in front of a house in Okcheon-gun was flooded and isolated residents were rescued.



Although it rained at 30mm per hour in Gwangju and parts of Jeollanam-do, there was no major damage such as flooding.
