Today (12th), we will connect to the Honam area where it is predicted to rain a lot and see what the situation is now.

Our reporter team is out in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do.

Reporter Min-Jun Kim, it seems that the rain has stopped in Gunsan now.

I am standing in front of Gyeongpocheon Stream, which runs through downtown Gunsan.

As you can see from my side, now that the rain has stopped, the current has calmed down and the water level has gone down a lot.

The Gyeongpocheon Stream is a river that flooded during the torrential rain in 2012 and caused great damage to downtown Gunsan.

Because of this, it rained a lot, and the citizens of Gunsan were joking, wondering if it would be like that time.

Fortunately, the rain stopped and the flooding did not happen.

As the rain clouds weakened, the heavy rain advisory that had been issued for the entire Jeollabuk-do area, including Gunsan, was lifted as of 7 pm yesterday.

At one time, the intersection of Gunsan University in Milyong-dong and the intersection in front of the Naun-dong health center were flooded and drainage work was done for about two hours, restricting the passage of citizens.

More than 80 houses, shopping malls and 70 roads were also submerged.

[Gangchangnam/Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do: I was kicked up to here, but I kicked up to my knees in front of that.

I'm afraid the water will come into the house.

Before that, it rained a lot a few years ago, so the first floor was full of water.

But I was very worried that it might be the case today.]

Right now, the rain is getting weaker and we are in a lull, but we cannot be relieved right now.

<Reporter>

Yes.

It rained heavily in Jeollabuk-do other than here in Gunsan, but most of it stopped last night and just past dawn.

The amount of rain in Jeollabuk-do from yesterday to this morning was 193 in Gunsan, 123 in Iksan, and 98 mm in Gimje.

In Jeonnam, Goseong was 28, Yeongwang was 27, and Gwangju was 9mm.

The Korea Meteorological Administration has urged citizens to be careful as there is more rain news, although the congestion front is expected to go further south and gradually disappear this morning.
