I'm out by the Wonjucheon Stream in Wonju, and the rain that had been pouring hard until the morning started to taper during the day and now the rain has completely stopped.



Some vehicles that could not be evacuated were also damaged by flooding as the water started to fill up from dawn here in Wonjucheon.



The water is now completely drained, but vehicle traffic is still under control due to possible re-flooding.



In the Gangwon area, since yesterday (8th), it has rained as much as 200mm.



Especially in Wonju, Hoengseong, and Pyeongchang, central and southern inland areas of Yeongseo and Pyeongchang, at one time in the early morning, torrential downpours of 40 to 50 mm per hour caused great damage.



At around 12:50 PM today, a landslide occurred in Dunnae-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, and a house was buried in soil.



The fire department is carrying out rescue operations using heavy equipment in response to reports from neighbors that one resident in his 70s was living there.



At around 8 am, a man in his 50s, a guest in his 50s, was swept away by a rapid current in the valley in front of a pension in Yongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, and was found dead 1km downstream after about two hours.



Roads, barns and farmland flooded one after another.



In Hojeo-myeon, Wonju-si, the Jamsu Bridge, the entrance to the village, was locked, and about 10 households were isolated.



At the Munmak Bridge over the Seomgang River in Wonju, a flood warning has been issued since dawn, and about 10 vehicles have been damaged by flooding.



In the mountains and inland in the central and southern part of Gangwon, it is predicted that it will rain 100 to 300 mm more by the day after day, so special preparations are necessary for the residents.
