Due to heavy rain last night, a family with developmental disabilities who lived in a semi-basement house in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, was isolated and killed by flooding.

According to the police on the 9th, a woman in her 40s, her sister A, and her teenage daughter were found dead one after another at 0:26 today in the semi-basement of a house in Sillim-dong.

Mr. A asked an acquaintance to report the flood when it rained yesterday, and the acquaintance reported it to the police at around 9 pm yesterday.

The police, who received the report, said that the house was filled with water due to heavy rain and that drainage work was necessary and requested a joint response from the fire department.

However, they were already dead when the family was found after drainage.

It was determined that four people were living with the sister's mother.

It is known that the mother was away from home at the time of the accident for hospital treatment.

A's older sister had a developmental disability, local residents reported.

The police will decide whether to perform an autopsy after a doctor's examination of them.

Regarding the situation at the time, a resident next door to the same building said, "The water on the road filled up to the thigh and the door could not be opened already." "The window with the security window was the only way out. The water came up in seconds," he explained.

Park Mo, who lives in the same building, said, "The water came up around 9 pm the day before, so I kept calling 911, but I heard a waiting sound and the call was not connected.

He continued, "The water began to drain at around 11 and 12 pm, and the fire department came and ripped off the security window with equipment and repaired it."

A record torrential downpour yesterday, followed by rain this morning, continues drainage work.

A hose was connected to drain water from the basement of most buildings in the alley where the accident occurred.

Convenience stores near the alley also suffered a flood damage, resulting in a power outage from 8 pm yesterday, and freezers are not working.

A firefighter official said, "I've been draining water since 12 pm, but I think I'll have to do it all day today."
