Engineers who waved greetings toward oncoming trains were subject to internal discipline.

According to KORAIL today (8th), the audit committee of the construction company requested disciplinary action from the headquarters for engineers A and B, who waved and greeted the other engineer while driving an electric train.

Engineer A from the metropolitan area headquarters of KORAIL stopped at a station on Seoul Subway Line 1 at around 3 pm on February 28, and saw engineer B of the train coming from the opposite side and waved his right hand to greet him.

Mr. B also greeted Mr. A.

One passenger who observed this filed a complaint with the construction company, saying that 'engineers did not fulfill their duty to drive safely'.

KORAIL judged that these actions of the engineers did not fulfill their duty to drive safely.

The KORAIL audit committee judged that they neglected to drive safely in accordance with Article 166 (2) of the Driving Handling Regulations.

According to the regulations, it is stipulated that the driver must 'drive with caution while keeping an eye on the signal and the course'.

KORAIL has requested disciplinary action against the two engineers from the metropolitan area headquarters, and the headquarters will take disciplinary action against these engineers after confirming the truth of the report.

A construction official said, "The two engineers may be unfair, but the engineer must prepare for any emergency that may occur on the train. "I didn't fulfill my driving duty," he said.
