The image of a man and a woman throwing away a drink cup used as an ashtray for cigarette butts on a roadside in Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, has been caught, drawing outrage from netizens.
On the 5th, a post titled 'Really pathetic and naughty couple' was uploaded on an online community.
Author A released a short 5-second video saying, "I was organizing the black box video, and I uploaded it as a pathetic couple."
The video showed a man and woman throwing away a cup of drink between flower beds along the street.
If you look at the photo uploaded by Mr. A, the cup they threw away was half full of cigarette butts.
Mr. A explained, "The couple who bought coffee threw away the two drink cups they had been drinking in the car on the road too naturally," he explained.
He also said, "I have received complaints about them in Buk-gu, Gwangju, due to unauthorized dumping of garbage."
Netizens who encountered the story criticized the men and women with comments such as "Please keep basic common sense", "Those who throw away, separate those who put them away", and "You should be ashamed".
Unauthorized dumping of garbage is subject to a fine of not more than 1 million won in accordance with the Waste Management Act.
50,000 won if you throw away the garbage you were carrying, such as cigarette butts or toilet paper, 200,000 won if you dispose of waste using a plastic bag, etc.
If you use transport equipment such as a vehicle or cart, you will be charged 500,000 won each.
