A group specialized in the car trade in the country reported that the rate of sales of electric cars increased by 10% during the past month compared to the previous month, stressing that the demand for purchasing these cars increased significantly during the first half of this year, with the availability of many luxury features and low costs. Marwan Al-Hayali, General Manager of Hakam Motors Group for Cars Trading in Dubai, said that the UAE is witnessing a major qualitative leap in the field of electric cars, which has emerged remarkably during the past months, and the percentage of demand for electric cars exceeded 10% during the month of July compared to June, due to several reasons, most notably The increasing means of luxury and the advantages of rationalizing expenditures with electric cars, pointing out that the car market in the UAE is going through a transitional phase since the beginning of this year, with a large number of citizens and residents going to buy electric cars, and high expectations that the demand for this type of cars will prevail by 2030.

Al-Hayali stated that the UAE market is at the forefront of consuming electric cars in the Middle East, due to everyone's desire to acquire the best and latest and keep pace with the global development in the car market.


 He stated that the UAE government has accompanied this development by creating the appropriate infrastructure for charging electric cars, providing electric chargers and distributing them to different regions and continuing to expand their deployment.

He added, "The most important characteristic of electric cars is the low operational cost in the long term of use, with the distinction of electric cars on the market and the diversity of their shapes, sizes and uses.

Al-Hayali continued: "To keep pace with the rapid growth in the electric car market, Hakam Motors Group has introduced, for the first time in the country, the large electric car (Mercedes 2022 EQV), which can accommodate a whole family of eight people to meet all the demands of the local market, and new versions have been imported. There are electric cars that were not available before in the markets of the country and the Gulf region, to meet the demands of citizens and residents and support the country’s strategy to rely on clean energy and the green economy.”
