Today (3rd) around 6:40 am, a sinkhole (subsidence) with a size of 12m, 8m, and 5m in depth occurred at the construction site near Naksan Beach in Ganghyeon-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, and some of the nearby convenience store buildings collapsed.
No one was injured in the accident, but 96 guests from nearby accommodations evacuated on their own.
The police and fire department control the scene and are investigating the cause of the accident together with the Yangyang-gun Water and Sewerage Office and Korea Gas Safety Corporation.
