A voice phishing delivery plan was discovered and arrested by a veteran detective who was engaged in voice phishing prevention activities.

According to the Daegu Police Agency today (3rd), Detective A from the Daegu Nambu Police Station discovered that a woman was sending money with a bundle of 50,000 won bills on top of an ATM during voice phishing prevention activities.

Detective A, who saw this, suspected her of voice phishing, stopped her remittance, revealed the identity of a police officer, and inquired about her remittance.

She muffled her speech, saying that she "takes money from some man and does what her company tells her ...".

When Detective A heard the woman's answer, Detective A had a gut feeling that it was voice phishing.

Detective A said, "When I analyzed the voice phishing cases, the crimes occurred mostly in the afternoon, and the voice phishing collection and remittance books were often sent using ATMs in unmanned stores without managers."

As a result of the investigation, the woman was identified as a voice phishing carrier.

The police said, "Thanks to Detective A's keen eye, we were able to prevent additional remittances and arrest the voice phishing delivery plan."

“Once a voice phishing crime occurs, it is difficult to arrest the suspect and it is difficult to recover the amount of damage,” he said.
