union of Daewoo Shipbuilding's subcontractors and representatives of subcontractors resumed negotiations from 8 am today (22nd).



After the first round of negotiations, the second round of negotiations has been ongoing for a while.



The biggest issues are job security and civil and criminal liability issues.



Although the differences of opinion have narrowed somewhat compared to yesterday on the issue of employment succession of workers from business partners who have closed their business, it is known that further discussion is still needed.



Yesterday, both labor and management sat face to face from 10 am, repeating adjournment and resume, and continued marathon negotiations until 1 am today.



As it is known that they have gathered opinions on the extent of wage increases and liability for damages to suppliers, expectations for a dramatic settlement were raised yesterday evening.



However, it was only agreed upon in a broad framework, and the details were not well coordinated, and thus it was not fully concluded.



Separately, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), the principal contractor, is in a position to hold the union responsible for an additional 700 billion won in losses, so the union, the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering are also discussing another.



Starting tomorrow, most of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering's employees will go on summer vacation for two weeks.



If negotiations are not completed by today, strikes will continue without measures.



Meanwhile, the vote in favor of the regular workers' union's withdrawal from the metallurgical union, which started yesterday, has recorded a turnout of close to 84% as of this morning.



Results are expected to be released after 3pm.
