The court has decided to evict a member of the Geoje Tongyeong Goseong Shipbuilding Subcontracting Branch of the Metal Workers' Union, who is occupying the shipbuilding workshop of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.

The Civil Division 2 of the Tongyeong Branch of the Changwon District Law cited part of an application for an injunction against the assembly and demonstration by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) against the vice chairman of the subcontracting branch.

The court ruled that these occupational actions were not legitimate industrial actions and that the occupational actions would cause or highly likely cause economic loss to the management.

The court ordered the union to pay 3 million won a day to the management if they do not move out.

In response, Kim Hyung-soo, chairman of the Geoje Tongyeong Goseong Chosun subcontractor branch, said, "The strike will continue until the management agrees to the union's request." "We are reviewing the court's decision."

About 150 members of the subcontracting branch went on strike from the 2nd of last month, demanding a '30% wage increase'.
