Pyeongtaek Police Station in Gyeonggi Province has booked a 20-year-old Private Soldier A from USFK without detention on charges of drunken driving.
A Lee Byung is suspected of causing a car accident while driving his car after drinking alcohol on a road in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do around 3:40 a.m. today (16th).
It was investigated that he was turning right at an intersection without a signal and collided with a taxi turning left on the opposite side.
The taxi driver was reportedly not seriously injured.
Person A's blood alcohol level at the time of the accident was measured to be above 0.1%, which exceeded the standard for revocation of his license.
The police will hand over Private A to the US Military Police in accordance with the SOFA agreement under the Status of Forces Korea Agreement (SOFA) and investigate the circumstances of the accident after discussing the schedule.
