Park Ji-won and Seo Hoon were allotted to the Public Investigation Department of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in charge of public security cases within one day of filing.

Former Director Park Ji-won, who is accused of being involved in the shooting of a public official in the West Sea, is investigated by the Public Investigation Division 1, and former Director Seo Hoon, who is suspected of involvement in the North Korean defector repatriation case, is investigated by the Public Investigation Division 3.

Former Director Park is charged with unauthorized deletion of a report related to intelligence by the National Intelligence Service related to the death of an official of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and former Director Seo is charged with forcibly and prematurely ending the investigation of two North Korean fishermen who expressed their intention to defect in 2019. .

The key to the investigation is to find out if there were any unfair instructions from the former director, in which the joint interrogation process, which normally takes more than several weeks, was completed in three or four days and sent back to North Korea in five days.

Charges of abuse of power under the National Intelligence Service Act were applied to both of them. Separately, former Director Park was charged with corruption of public electronic records, and former Director Seo was charged with writing false official documents.

As the National Intelligence Service is known to have secured evidence and statements to prove the charges of the two former directors through its own investigation and attached them to the indictment, the prosecution is expected to secure additional evidence through a search and seizure in the near future.

Previously, President Yoon Seok-yeol repeatedly expressed his will to find out the truth about the two incidents.

(21st of last month): A lot of people were puzzled and raised a lot about the repatriation of the (fishermen), but it seems that he is looking into it once.]

It seems that the prosecution's investigation will speed up as much as it was ordered to reveal.
