Let's go north this time.

In the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, the North Korean side, which has been raining a lot recently, is nervous about opening the dam sluice gate and letting the swelled water go down at once.

Our reporter is out at Gunnam Dam on the Imjin River.

Reporter Park Se-won, how is the water level there now?

<Reporter>

It has been raining since the dawn of today (30th) in the Gunnam Dam area.

A heavy rain warning has been issued here in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, since 7:30 yesterday evening, but as you can see behind me, the water in the Imjin River has risen a lot.

The water level at Gunnam Dam is 29.02 meters as of 5:20 am today, almost the same as yesterday evening.

The Gunnam Dam situation room opens 13 sluice gates and pours out 2,700 tons of water per second to prevent the water level from rising further.

It appears that North Korea has not yet opened the floodgates of the Hwanggang Dam, just 57 kilometers from here.

However, the authorities are monitoring the situation in real time as it has already rained heavily in North Korea and there is a possibility that the floodgates will be opened to control the water level.

Heavy rain warnings have been issued for all areas except Paju, Yangju, and Dongducheon in the northern part of Gyeonggi-do, so tensions cannot be put down.

The water level of Pilseung Bridge, the main observation point of the Imjin River, is 4.7 meters as of 4:10 am today, and the water level is repeating up and down.

The water level of the Hantangang

Dam rose slightly between dawn and rose to 61.5 meters, and the water level of the Cheongpyeong Bridge in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do also continued to rise and reached 2.5 meters.
