The police, who are investigating the disappearance of Jo Yu-na's family, are checking to see if there is a connection to the case after they found a presumed vehicle part in the waters off Wando, Jeollanam-do.

According to the Gwangju Police Agency, a police diver who was conducting an underwater search at the Mulhatae ferry dock in Sinji-myeon, Wando-gun around 3 pm today (28th) discovered an object that looked like a vehicle part.

No traces of the vehicle body have been reported to have been found around the location where the object was found.

Police plan to check whether the object is a part of a vehicle or a part of the Audi vehicle that Yang's family used to drive.

The police have been conducting an underwater search by sending divers to the Mulhatae ferry from the day before, keeping in mind the possibility that the vehicle the Cho Yang family was riding in crashed into the sea.

The whereabouts of Yang's family have been unknown since closed circuit TV showed them coming out of a pension near Myeongsasimni, Sinji-myeon, around 11 pm on the 30th of last month.
