A Chinese man in his 30s who brutally murdered the husband of a co-worker was also sentenced to a heavy sentence in the appeals court.

The 1st Criminal Division of the Jeonju Tribunal of the Gwangju High Court (Judge Baek Kang-jin) maintained the original trial that dismissed the appeals of the accused and the prosecution and sentenced them to 20 years in prison in the appeal trial against A (35) charged with murder on the 22nd. .

On September 7, last year, at about 2 am, in a parking lot in Jeongeup-si, Jeollabuk-do, Mr. A was charged with stabbing and killing a co-worker's Korean husband, B (then 30), with a knife 10 times in the neck and abdomen.

He followed Mr. B, who was running away from him even after being stabbed with a knife, and committed the crime, then went to the district court and surrendered himself.

B was taken to the hospital, but eventually died.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that this incident was caused by a mobile phone app translator that A used to communicate with B while drinking at a pub in downtown Jeongeup.

Mr. A said to the app in Chinese, "It was fun today, let's play together with my sister (work colleague) next time", but the translator misinterpreted her as 'handmaiden'.

B, who understood the young lady as a karaoke waitress, got angry and punched A in the face with his fist.

It was found that Mr. A, who spurred his seat, bought a weapon at a nearby mart and committed the crime against Mr. B, who was returning home without being able to erase his resentment, thinking that he had been ignored.

The court said, "The defendant purchased a weapon prior to the crime and called the victim to a rare place to commit the crime," the court said. I will maintain the sentence of the first trial.”
