Microsoft announced on Thursday that it is rolling out a new feature to all users of the Xbox app on Windows 10 and 11.

The latter is called “Game Performance Fit Indicator”, reports

Phonandroid

.

This tool, in the test phase since December 2021, aims to inform players about the ability of their PC to run this or that video game.

This compatibility can indeed sometimes be a real headache, especially since a game can sometimes work perfectly but with too low a resolution, or with unexpected slowdowns.

A diagnosis in one sentence

Microsoft's new tool therefore aims to inform users as well as possible about the adequacy between their computer and the resources required by a title.

It "compares game performance on PCs with similar specs to yours to show a prediction of how well the game will run," the company explains on its website.

The diagnosis, summarized in one sentence, is visible under the "Install" button on the game's page. The objective is thus to allow players to install only games that will work well at home.

The tool will also save time for Game Pass subscribers, who will be able to sort through the available games at a glance.
