After Curiosity last May, it's Perseverance's turn to send us a disturbing image of Mars.

Taken on Tuesday, the photo reveals a small rock that seems to be balanced on others, a position that has intrigued Internet users.

Every day since its arrival on Mars in February 2021, the NASA rover has crisscrossed the surroundings of Jezero crater and immortalized the surroundings, reports

See that round stone balanced on a larger one?

Amazing, right?

So what is it?

The “most evocative photo of Mars”

But the photo taken from a delta of the crater aroused particular interest, at least among Internet users.

If at first sight it does not reveal anything extraordinary, it shows a small rock that seems to defy all the laws of gravity by playing the tightrope walkers on another larger rock.

The image was called "the most evocative photo of Mars" by astrobiologist David Grinspoon on Twitter.

It has also inspired Internet users, who have multiplied hypotheses and diversions.

For their part, NASA researchers are waiting for new pictures of Perseverance to try to understand how this small rock is in balance.
