An accountant in his 40s who stole 760 million won from company money for nine years and used it for living expenses, was sentenced to prison.  



The 12th Criminal Division of the Incheon District Court (Chief Judge Im Eun-ha) announced today (15th) that A (41, female), who was handed over to trial for embezzlement under the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Economic Crimes, was sentenced to two years in prison. 



From July 2011 to April 2020, Mr. A was indicted on charges of stealing 768 million won of company funds into his account 559 times while working as an accountant for a company. 



In order to hide his crime, Mr. A corrected the contents recorded in the withdrawal passbook when transferring money or submitted a fake receipt to the company that pretended to have purchased company goods.

The court pointed out, "If you look at the duration of the crime and the size of the amount of embezzlement, the quality of the crime is not good." 



"The defendant's husband paid 370 million won to the victim company, but he could not fully reach an agreement," he said.
