Around 2 a.m., the van carrying several migrants forced a roadblock towards Sospel, a town located near the Italian border.
A chase then began in the direction of Nice and the van forced at least another roadblock before coming to a stop in the Moulins district, a red-light district of Nice, where the driver and his two acolytes took the escape, leaving five migrants on board.
