I reported yesterday (13th) that the military non-commissioned officers who drank alcohol illegally checked the car that a woman was riding on the roadside at dawn.

They explained that they were talking to each other while tracking down a vehicle suspected of prostitution, but the description of the victim we met with our reporters was completely different.

Let's take a look at reporter Park Se-won's exclusive report and talk about it.

<Reporter>

A pregnant woman, A, who was checked by two non-commissioned officers in plain clothes around 5 in the morning the other day.

The reason I got out of the car early was because I had stomach cramps all of a sudden.

[Mr A/Victim: I couldn't wake the groom, so I quickly got up and took it by myself.

.]

The pain got so bad that I stopped driving for a while and stopped the car on the side of the road, when two men suddenly approached me.

[Mr A/Victim: Show your military ID and say it's a police officer, so please look down because it's cracking down on drinking.

I think he was more frightened because he was standing at the door of both cars and holding the car, and his threatening expression.]

The drunken non-commissioned officers approached the vehicle from here and followed the vehicle along this road.

While A locked the door and reported to the police, it is known that they approached another vehicle driven by the female driver alone.

The CCTV secured by the police is said to contain the appearance of approaching and talking to passersby on the street at the time.

A said that when the police arrived, they suddenly said they were tracking a vehicle suspected of prostitution.

[Mr A/Victim: Then I never mentioned (before) that 'I asked a pregnant woman to find a prostitution starex car'...

.]

The car's black box was turned off, so the pictures taken by Mr. A in a hurry showed the faces of two noncommissioned officers who were drunk and smiling with their faces pressed into the window.

The unit, which is investigating whether their actions were illegal, believes that they were engaged in crime prevention activities based solely on the statements of the non-commissioned officers.

[Military official: Although he drank alcohol, he seems to have acted a bit out of a sense of skepticism or justice, but he could have run away or did that, but if it was wrong.

] He said he would hand it over to the military police.

Reporter Park Se-won, who covered this content, is here.

Q. How will the investigation proceed in the future?

[Reporter Park Se-won: Because the two non-commissioned officers are active-duty soldiers, the investigation will be conducted by the military police of their unit, not the police.

The police immediately handed over the recruits to the military police after confirming the facts of the two non-commissioned officers who were suspected of illegal arrest at the time of the incident.

The military police have completed the first investigation on them, and the police are planning to conduct a second investigation if they hand over the contents after the police complete the investigation of the victim soon.

It should be noted that one of the two non-commissioned officers is a member of the military police, which is conducting this investigation.

Therefore, we will continue to monitor whether measures such as investigation, disciplinary action and punishment are objectively implemented.]

Q. “As a result of the investigation”…

The military who cares about words

[Reporter Park Se-won: It is true that the non-commissioned officers were drinking alcohol, but the military officials whom our reporters spoke to answered to the effect that they were doing crime prevention.

We are accepting the statements of non-commissioned officers that they found a van suspected of prostitution by teenage women, and that they approached the victim's vehicle with the purpose of inquiring about the whereabouts of missing the vehicle.

However, the victim said that they did not talk about the prostitution vehicle at all until the police arrived, and it is a crime prevention activity to approach female drivers alone in the car at dawn and talk to passersby alone. This is something that is a bit questionable.

Following yesterday's report, when additional allegations were raised, the military side again spared no words, saying, "It is a matter that needs to be elucidated through investigations because the claims may be different."
