Five people were injured, two of them seriously, on Sunday in Bordeaux during the pride march.

The metal structure of one of the parade floats fell on participants after getting caught in the trees.

The procession was interrupted and a security perimeter was set up.

The pride march in Bordeaux was interrupted on Sunday after "the fall of metal barriers from a tank" on participants, announced the municipality, the prefecture citing a provisional toll of five injured, including two hospitalized.

"The provisional report shows two seriously injured taken to hospital, three slightly injured and four people being examined," said the Gironde prefecture.

"The metal structure of one of the tanks got caught in the trees and fell on people," said the same source.

This structure was at the top of the tank, on a platform at the back of a truck.

The procession, which had 4,800 participants according to the prefecture, was interrupted and a security perimeter was set up on Cours Victor-Hugo where the accident occurred at the end of the afternoon.
