A court has sentenced a man in his 40s to prison for raping and abusing his own daughter multiple times over the years.
According to the legal community today (8th), the 1st Criminal Division of the Pohang Branch of the Daegu District Court (Judge Kwon Soon-hyang) sentenced A (40), who was charged with violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes (rape by kinship), etc., to 12 years in prison. He was sentenced and ordered to attach electronic location tracking devices and to limit employment at child and youth facilities and welfare facilities for the disabled for 7 years.
Mr. A is accused of sexually assaulting her biological daughter, Miss B, several times between 2018 and 2020 and abusing her Ms. B for not responding well.
He committed her crimes by sexually objecting her Ms. B after threatening her for her economic status as head of the household.
Miss B was only 13 to 14 years old at the time of the crime.
Mr. A sexually assaulted Mrs. B while she was sleeping with her mother and her sister. Mr. A did not stop there, but also asked her biological daughter, Ms. B, to "introduce her friend."
The court said, "As the crime is repeated over a long period of time, the young victim seems to have suffered from extreme mental and psychological pain and sexual shame for a long period of time. He even showed a sad side of trying to endure the pain on his own.”
However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "The quality of the crime is very heavy and severe punishment is inevitable.
