A 30-year-old man has been sentenced to death for beating a neighbor who was arguing over saying hello to his wife.

Criminal Division 2-2 of the Suwon High Court (Judges Kwan-yong Kim, Sang-ho Lee, and Jeong-ok Wang) maintained the original sentence of two years in prison by dismissing the appeal of Mr.

On July 22, last year, at around 9:20 a.m. in a villa in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, Mr. A was arguing with his neighbor, Mr. B (then 50 years old), and slapped him in the face with his hand.

Mr. B, who was standing with his back on the stairs at the time, lost his center due to the shock of the assault and fell down the stairs, hit his head on the marble floor and was taken to the hospital, but died a few days later.

As a result of the investigation, it was revealed that Mr. A committed the crime while arguing with Mr. B because Mr. B said hello to his wife.

In response, the first trial court pointed out, "The accused is highly likely to be criticized for showing an irresponsible attitude of leaving the scene by swearing at the victim and victim's wife without taking any relief measures even though the victim is unconscious and collapsed." .

He also explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "Even if the defendant paid 450 million won to the bereaved family and agreed to an agreement, the defendant needs a corresponding severe punishment."

The second trial court also said, "The defendant paid an additional 100 million won to the bereaved family at the second trial, but it seems that the bereaved family suffered extreme emotional pain and sorrow as a result of this case." No,” said the reason for dismissing the appeal.
