Today (6th), the number of new COVID-19 cases fell to 5,000 for the first time in four and a half months.

The number of tests decreased due to the Memorial Day holiday, but as the epidemic is noticeably fading, the government has decided to change the home treatment system to face-to-face treatment.

There were 5,022 new confirmed cases of Corona 19 yesterday.

This is the lowest number since the peak of 4,68 people on January 18, before the omicron mutation spread.

It was the first time in four and a half months since January 19, the next day, that 5,000 new confirmed cases were recorded.

The number of patients with severe severe cases also recorded 129 for ten days in a row, in the 100s, and the death toll was 21.

This seems to be because the number of tests decreased due to the Memorial Day holiday.

As the trend of declining epidemics has become clear, the government has decided to switch the home treatment system to face-to-face treatment.

This is because the number of at-home treatment patients, which exceeded 2 million in March, has fallen below 100,000 since the end of last month.

In the meantime, elderly patients over the age of 60 who have been confirmed with COVID-19 have received health monitoring by phone twice a day, but starting today, it will be reduced to once.

However, until the quarantine obligation for confirmed cases is lifted, the response system that provides 24-hour medical consultation and administrative guidance to home healers will be maintained.
