Marta Soto

(Punta Umbría, Huelva, 1996) pleads guilty to being a dreamer.

This time, the artist from Huelva reveals her ambition with her new album

De Ella Todo lo que Tengo

.

The singer-songwriter now sports fiery red in her hair.

She comments that this reflects her personal and artistic evolution.

After a two-year discovery process, today's Marta shows to be more sensitive and nostalgic.

But she is also stronger and, above all, freer.

This album includes hits like

Volvería

,

You can count on me

ft.

Miriam Rodriguez

,

Flowers grow on me

and

I think of you

.

The songs can be heard live for the first time on their 2022 tour. Cities such as Seville, Bilbao and Barcelona will witness the new musical work that will also be presented in Madrid on June 2.

The singer, who started her career on Youtube, is now ready to

rock the stages

.

Will you give everything you have on this new album?Of course.

I have dared to try other musical styles.

At the composition level, the songs have a more adult and mature point.

I hope that people enjoy this work beyond the technicalities, because in the end that's what music is for.

Do you feel nostalgic? Yes.

Especially in these last years.

Even when we have had a bad time, we also have to remember it.

This is the only way to assess the well-being of the present. Did the pandemic influence your musical evolution? At the beginning of the pandemic, I wasn't creative at all.

I couldn't even look at the guitar from afar.

With the passage of time that creative part woke up in me.

In the end, good things came out of it. In the midst of the loneliness of isolation, did you find yourself? I'm living in Madrid, but I'm from Huelva.

All my people were far from me and feeling that distance blocked me.

Being a young girl and being caught alone here, it gave me vertigo.

Over time I let off steam with the guitar and finally found myself. How has the process of leaving Huelva and coming to the capital been? I came here as a girl, four years ago.

I felt small in the midst of so many people.

I still feel like I don't know the city.

It is important to make a small group of friends who love you, in good times and bad.

It is imperative to have that ground wire nearby.

Does Madrid inspire you? Without a doubt.

If I hadn't been here, I probably wouldn't have met half the people I know now.

Therefore, I would not have written half of the songs that I have written.

The capital is totally connected to my musical career. Is your personal growth reflected in music? I'm older now and life looks different.

Now I am more ambitious musically.

On this new album you're going to find R&B, along with flamenco.

All this under the common thread of author music, which is what I am passionate about.

There is a musical evolution and daring, which was not on the previous album. What do you expect from the public at your concerts? The only expectation I have is that people enjoy it.

I want them to have a good time, because that's why I get on stage.

I would like them to forget their mobiles and enjoy the experience.

That's what we really take home. What is the key to success? I don't know that.

I just lock myself in the room and compose.

I don't make my songs thinking about success, I just know that there is a lot of heart in it. You started your career on YouTube.

Did you expect to become known through that medium? Devoting yourself to what you dream of is a fulfilled wish.

I didn't think I could dedicate myself to this, because there has always been a tendency to underestimate art.

But look, thanks to life here we are.

You stopped singing in your room for YouTube, to do it on big stages... I loved that transition.

All I want is to be on stage, it's what fills me most in this profession.

It's the only place where all my problems go away, it restarts my life. Are social networks essential for new artists? Obviously.

Whoever looks the other way and doesn't want to see it, commits a pretty big blunder.

Social networks today are a cover letter.

Omitting it is a mistake. Which artist inspires you? I, who am from Huelva, listen to Manuel Carrasco.

Maestro Alejandro Sanz also inspires me a lot.

I also listen to Joaquín Sabina and Silvio Rodríguez.

Also, I've gone down more British roads.

Coldplay has been a group that has marked my entire adolescence.

On the other hand, I have my house '

wallpapered' with photos of Amy Winehouse.

I like everything that comes from England a lot. Alejandro Sanz put your talent on the map by showing your videos... When that happened, I was dying of nerves.

You never expect that to happen.

It was a very nice experience that I remember fondly. Finally, what advice would you give to young artists who want to break into music? Forget about labels and do what comes from the heart.

I would also tell them to work hard.

You have to dedicate many hours to this, because if you want something you have to put strength into it.
