The wildfire in Bubuk-myeon, Miryang-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, which ignited today (31st) did not spread to the downtown area at the bottom of the mountain, so there were no casualties.

At around 9:25 am today, a fire of unknown cause broke out in the middle of a volcano around San 13-31, Chunhwa-ri, Bubuk-myeon, Miryang-si.

The ignition point is above Hwasan Village and Chunhwa Agricultural Industrial Complex, and it is not far from the city area where there are nursing hospitals, apartment complexes, and Miryang City Hall.

At one point in the morning, the scene was so tense that the Korea Forest Service issued an evacuation order to 476 residents of 100 households close to the fire area.

The wind was strong and in a short amount of time the wildfire spread widely.

Fortunately, however, the wind direction was not towards town or town.

Rather than burning the mountain from top to bottom, the wind-blown flames continued to spread sideways from where it first started.

As the forest and fire authorities intensively put manpower and equipment in place, the flames and smoke decreased significantly around the ignition point as it passed 2pm.

However, as the smoke continues to spread due to the wind, the area around Miryang City is still foggy to the point of blurring the view with a pungent smell.

Milyang Mayor Park Il-ho, whose mayor authority was suspended due to registration as a mayor candidate, stopped his campaign and visited the scene of the wildfire.

Mayor Park Il-ho said, "He is doing his best to evolve, focusing on preventing it from spreading toward the city center."
