Witnesses subdued the assailant

It was witnesses attending the attack who overpowered the assailant while awaiting the intervention of the police, who proceeded to arrest him, a police source reported.

Of French nationality, the aggressor would have declared in front of the investigators to have acted "in the name of God".

He would also have evoked "the devil".

But the terrorist hypothesis has been definitively ruled out by the investigators, according to whom the man apparently suffers from psychological disorders.

The assailant was indicted for "attempted voluntary homicide" and imprisoned.
