The opening ceremony of the Sillim Line was held at Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu, Seoul one day before the opening of the Sillim Line urban railroad linking Yeouido and Seoul National University.



The opening ceremony today (27th) was attended by Acting Seoul Mayor Jo In-dong, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, and Democratic Party Candidate Song Young-gil.



The Sillim Line is a 7.8km long line connecting 11 stations from Saetgang Station in Yeouido to Gwanaksan Station.



It takes 16 minutes from the starting point to the ending point and transfers to subway lines 1,2,7,9.



Introduced the first Korean wireless communication-based train control system, KRTCS, to operate unmanned without an engineer.



The first service of the Sillim Line is from 5:30 am tomorrow (28th), until 1:00 am on weekdays, and until 12:00 pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.



With the opening of the Sillim Line, the Seoul Metropolitan Government predicted that the commute time from Saetgang Station to Seoul National University Station, which would take more than 35 minutes on existing bus routes, would be reduced by less than half.
